Relay for Life 2015
Stoughton's honorary survivor, Kathy Breuchel, not pictured, shared her story with a crowd of supporters during the Relay For Life opening ceremony Friday evening. She said her experience with cancer helped her find her inner strength, humor and even her birth family from Kansas City. Some of those family members even made the trip up for the event, including her father Donald Mattson, standing in the crowd, and her brother and sister-in-law.
The 2015 theme for Stoughton-McFarland-Oregon Relay for Life, held at Mandt Park June 19-20, was "Saving the World One Cure at a Time." Approximately 30 teams of friends, caregivers and survivors (many dressed in superhero costumes) came together in support of one another and to raise awareness and money for the American Cancer Society.
